About Us
We are a vibrant dance band from the 50's to 90's.
Our Stories:
With six talented members, we bring the best of classic dance music with fantastic harmonies. Four of our members, Greg, Jeff, Derek and Linda, came from the FlashBack Band/Tampa Bay. In addition to playing "Rock and Roll," Pepper and Dick play and sing in Jazz Bands.
Greg Richardson- Lead guitar, Lead and Background Vocals. Greg started playing his Gibson Melody Maker Guitar in the early 60's. At age 16, he was offered a job doing studio work in Atlanta, but turned it down due to his age. Greg appeared with Bertie Higgins as well as local bands; Hellbenders and The Fugitives. While in the Navy on an aircraft carrie, he jammed with other sailor musicians. In 1993, Greg was brought onto the FlashBack Band by Richard Garland. He brought the trademark guitar sounds reminiscent of Johnny Rivers, the Ventures, Chuck Berry and Santana. Aditionally, Greg worked in the studio with Michael Dan Ehmig who wrote songs for ; Ozzy Osborne, Lita Ford, Joe Cocker and Meat Loaf. Greg was part of a group on radio "WMNF" for this project. One popular song was "Rock and Roll Mercenaries."
Jeff Burns (keyboards, vocals), Jeff started playing piano at age 3! He went on to study piano composition and orchestration at Juilliard in N.Y. Jeff has written and recorded all styles of music including; country, pop, disco, jazz, classical and a piano concerto for full orchestra. one recording received BILLBOARD listing in the "Most Promising" category. Jeff played at the Clearwater Jazz Festival in 1982. He relocated to Florida in 1997, when he joined the FlashBack Band. His Amazing versatility on the keys has helped create a big sound not usually attained by live bands!
Linda...Lead vocals. Linda was born and raised in Indianapolis; took 7 years of voice lessons starting at age 16. She studied classical music then became the youngest member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. She did Broadway and stage performances before turning to popular music. During her time at a piano bar in Indy, she was discovered by Pete Brady who brought her into a 5 piece band that worked in Indy and Tampa. She worked in a trio which opened for "Tiny Tim," at the BayFront Center. She then worked at the clubhouses at Innisbrook. She then met her husband "Bob Werner," They played in Duos and Trios for 11 years. After that, she joined the FlashBack Band.
Derek Fair has a natural talent as a bass player. His wife is a talented pianist and both have passed their talent to their children and many students specializing in music. They own music stores where they teach people of all ages.

In April of 2025, Pepper celebrated 50 years in the music business. A headliner at Jazz Festivals & Cruises throughout the US, Canada & overseas, all while performing here in the Tampa Bay area. The 20th anniversary edition of the Tampa Bay Magazine listed her under "Best Bets" for booking from a duo to an 8pc band. Her musical background is classical big band swing jazz, standard and blues but she is versatile enough to sing in other genres. She is proud to be a board member of the Suncoast Jazz Festival for the last 35 years, helping to promote a true American Art Form to music students & Jazz fans throughout the country. Additionally, she has participated in benefits to support charitable organizations, such as; All Children's Hospital, Suncoast Hospice, The Humane Society, American Cancer Society, and and organizations that help military veterans. Some fond memories include performing with; Connie Haines, Harry Connick, Sr. Al Hirt, Henry Questa, Jerry Jerome & the Bob Cosby Bobcats.
Dick "Spanky" Maley/ Drums & vocals: Born in Washington, D.C. He attended Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Va.
